Where Robotiq TSF-85 fits

Applications and buying fit

The kit is relevant to grasp assessment, slip-related signal research, contact-data collection and physical AI development. The value comes from using contact information in a control or learning workflow. A sensor does not automatically implement a complete grip-recovery policy.

What this offer covers

The documented Starter Kit contains two tactile fingertips, associated mounting hardware, a main connectivity hub and a USB cable. A complete gripper, robot arm and control computer are not implied. Match the current packing list and mounting requirements to the quote.

Integration and compatibility

Software and control

Review the current manufacturer quick-start material, data interfaces, drivers and supported development stack. Plan how pressure-array readings, vibration data and IMU signals will be synchronised with robot state. Do not treat the 1000 Hz dynamic channel as the guaranteed refresh rate for every sensor output.

Engineering checks that matter

The linked guide states that tactile signals are not integrated into the gripper internal controller and that high-frequency gripper control based on tactile feedback is not possible through that arrangement. Plan an external computer and application-specific software. Raw capacitive taxel values must not be presented as calibrated force in newtons.

Compare configurations before buying

The Starter Kit differs from replacement kit AGC-TIP-TSF-85. The replacement package omits connection items provided for initial setup. Keep the commercial names distinct so an existing lab can order consumables without receiving or paying for the wrong scope.

Plan the complete installation

The manufacturer user guide describes rapidly evolving versions and advises checking long-term availability and compatibility. Confirm the exact kit revision for repeat procurement. Raw tactile signals require interpretation and application validation rather than being a certified universal object-damage measurement.

Discuss the application

How to validate the application

Verify gripper revision and fingertip mounting. Log sensor channels with robot state, then check timestamps, contact repeatability and material effects. Keep pressure, vibration and IMU timing separate. Avoid sharp surfaces and environments beyond the documented limits.

Agree the acceptance evidence

Define the representative products or parts, operating conditions and pass criteria before approval. Keep the selected hardware, software versions and settings with the test record. Assign responsibility for installation, commissioning, training and recovery procedures in the proposal.

Request a written quotation

Ask for the exact model, condition, quantity and itemised accessories. Selling price and lead time are confirmed against that offer. External market listings are research references and are not our selling prices or proof of stock.

Delivery, warranty and support

Confirm packing, insurance, freight terms, customs responsibilities and the service location for your destination. Warranty coverage and return procedures depend on the supplied package and commercial agreement. Request installation and training separately where required.

Documentation and project resources

Robotiq TSF-85 frequently asked questions

Does the TSF-85 Starter Kit include a 2F-85 gripper?

No complete gripper is implied. The sensor fingertips are accessories for a separately supplied compatible gripper.

Is every sensor channel sampled at 1000 Hz?

The manufacturer identifies 1000 Hz for the dynamic vibration channel. Check individual channel timing in current documentation.

How is the replacement kit different?

The replacement kit is intended for replacing fingertips and associated hardware. The Starter Kit also includes the connectivity hub and USB cable.

Does TSF-85 automatically prevent slipping?

No automatic recovery policy is implied. Software must interpret the signals, and the documented arrangement does not provide high-frequency tactile control of the gripper.

Are taxel values calibrated force readings?

The guide describes raw capacitive values. A force estimate needs a validated interpretation for the contact conditions.

How do I request an accurate quotation?

Send the exact model, delivery country, quantity, required configuration and target purchase date. Include the task, existing equipment and any acceptance requirement so the offer can be checked against your application.

What delivery and warranty terms apply?

The written quotation must identify freight terms, import responsibilities, lead time, warranty coverage and service route. A third-party seller listing does not establish AI Robot Supplier inventory or delivery commitments.
